BSU unveils site against ragging

BHUBANESWAR: In a novel bid, Biju Patnaik University of Technology Students’ Union (BSU), students body of the varsity, has unveiled a website which will address critical issues such as ragging.

The site’s URL is www.bputstudents.com.

According to the students union members, the website offers an online form which can be filled up by any student who has faced any kind of harassment. This will be picked up by the Anti-Ragging Cell and inquired into. The idea is to give students a confidential forum which can address ragging within a span of 24 hours of the complaint.

However, false information will also attract stringent action since it can be tracked to the person who has posted it through the web server. Students said, the novel bid is aimed at making the BPUT colleges ragging free. This website has been made secure against hacking.
