TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Bangalore: In a unique initiative to enhance the employees’ work-life balance and to enthuse generation next with excitement about innovation and technology, Microsoft India celebrated a ‘Bring Your Child to Work’ day on Wednesday.

Over 500 children, in the age group of 2 to 17, of Microsoft employees across the country visited their parents’ work place and had fun. The company has over 4,000 employees across Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Pune, Nagpur and Ahmedabad.

The children got an understanding of what happens at their parents’ work place. In addition to that, they enjoyed cartooning, clay modelling, painting, mask making and playing with MS Power. All the children were allowed to play Platinum games on the ultra popular Xbox.

Joji Gill, HR director, India said, “We at Microsoft, strive to design policies that help employees achieve a healthy balance across different priorities. The ‘Bring Your Child to Work’ day is one such window to help our extended MS families get a peek into the lives of our employees who are also parents. The other part of the motivation stems from the fact that children, as the harbingers and users of tomorrow’s innovation, have always been important to Microsoft. This is an opportunity to introduce them to the excitement of technology and the pioneering work Microsoft is doing.’’
