Dhoni wins toss and elects to bat in fourth Test in Nagpur

JASON KREJZA became the fifth Australian debutant in eight Tests when he was chosen to play in the fourth Test against India.

The Tasmanian off-spinner replaced Stuart Clark as the only change in the last Test. Clark had taken just two wickets in two Tests this series.

With Australia 1-0 down it must win this Test to level the series and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Ricky Ponting lost his third successive toss, preventing Krejza and leg-spinner Cameron White from having the opportunity to bowl last on a pitch that is already wearing.

India made two changes, with opening batsman Murali Vijay making his Test debut in place of the banned Gautam Gambhir.

Harbhajan Singh recovered from a toe injury to replace retired captain Anil Kumble, making MS Dhoni official Test captain for the first time after two successful Tests as a stand-in skipper this year.

How the barren wicket will play is something of a mystery given this is the first international match to be played at the new Nagpur Stadium.

It is a wonderful venue but so far out of town hardly anyone turned up to see its christening.

There were thousands more who watched training at the old ground in the city over the past two days.
