Margazhi Raagam trailer launch

The trailer of the first of its kind 'concert movie' Margazhi Raagam was released today at Sathyam Cinemas in the presence of MP Kanimozhi. Produced by Real Image and Aghal films, the movie is expected to be one its kind experiences in cinema. For all lovers of Carnatic music the Margazhi season is the time to enjoy the music to the fullest with musical concersts being organised by the various sabhas. But this cinematic concert promises to be a completely novel and rejuvinating experience. Just a glimpse of the visuals in the trailer transports you to a different world, serene and peaceful, a musical world where every note you hear, even the lightest of expression of the singer you see, that too on the larger than life canvas moves every iota of your very existense.

The screening of the trailer had such an effect, so you can imagine how the complete concert will feel like. And given the technical excellence of Sathyam Cinemas, this will definitely be an experience of a lifetime.

Kanimozhi speaking on the occasion said that the trailer left her wanting for more. She was so moved by the expereince, something she had never imagined. Jayendra, the man behind this venture spoke about the experience of Margazhi Raagam. "For over four years, I have been living with the idea of giving Carnatic music an evocative new appeal in terms of presentation. Finally, the technology became available to give this dream the right shape." He hoped that classical music and cinema would see the benefit of this initiative.

Both the artists Bombay Jayashri and T.M.Krishna said that it was an amazing experience. They were moved by the whole concept and watching it come alive on screen was indeed as intimidating and challenging experience for both of them.

Also present at the occasion was Tan Ngaronga, COO, Sathyam Cinemas. He said that even for someone who had little knowledge of Carnatic music, he was looking forward to seeing the entire program. He felt that this would be a positive step forward in alternative content. He went on to add that Sathyam Cinemas was pleased to be involved with this project.
