Emma Watson Ready for Adult Roles, Film Nudity

Emma Watson, the British actress who played adorable but precocious wizard “Hermoine” in the “Harry Potter” film series is displaying a maturity and daring that is beyond her tender age.

The 18-year old said in a recent interview that she would not have a problem doing film nude scenes if the role is right. But don’t expect her to shed her clothes for just any flick. She also says she realizes the limits to fame and the adjustments that will be necessary for her to breach the gap between child and adult film star.

Like many child actresses, Watson must deal with perceptions of her as a child in her movies while dealing with the fact that she has become a grown woman, who now must find grown-up roles.

"I'm at a strange age... I'm not a woman yet, but I'm not a girl anymore,” she told the Times of London in an interview. “[Film companies] say, 'Oh, in a couple of years you'll be perfect for this.' I'll be like, yeah, but I want to be studying English then, so it's going to be quite tough to choose between the two.”

Her age hasn’t stopped her from asserting her blooming sexuality. She recently signed up to be the model for Coco Mademoiselle, a Chanel fragrance known for its risqué ad campaigns. She’s replaced actress Keira Knightley, who was considered by the company to be too old at 23. Three years ago, Knightley replaced aging model Kate Moss, after photos surfaced of Moss snorting cocaine.

"I have enough to hold me together without fame," she says. "I have a really supportive family and a full life away from ‘Harry Potter.’ It's unlikely that I'll be part of anything this big ever again, so I need to deal with that. I'm not going to take a job just because, shit, I'm not doing anything else."

But acting is still her main interest and she seems intent on pursuing her craft, even doing nude scenes if the role calls for it…"for Bernardo Bertolucci," she says laughingly. “It depends. I'm not getting my kit off any time soon, but it is part of my job."

Watson has a very European outlook on film nudity, very much like Kiera Knightley, the reigning British film queen, who has done several nude scenes and says she is comfortable with them. Her “Harry Potter” co-star Daniel Radcliffe is currently baring all on Broadway in the award-winning play Equus about a boy’s sexual obsession with horses.
