Eight people are dead from that PHI Helicopter Crash. The PHI Helicopter Crash into marshlands near New Orleans Sunday afternoon has left eight dead, one injured.

The PHI helicopter was headed for an offshore oil platform, operated by PHI Inc..

So far the helicopter type and cause of crash have not been determined. Identities of the injured have not been released. PHI reportedly owned an helicopter that crashed and resulted in four dead in June last year also.
