A group of Muslim intellectuals today ridiculed those who associate Islam with terrorism. They had come together to express their opinion at Tasleem Mahal in Hindpiri. Jharkhand Muslim Majlis-e-Mushwarat and Muslim Youth Forum had organised the programme.
Imam of Jafaria Welfare Society, Maulana Tajzib-ul-Hassan Rizwi, said it was wrong to associate Islam with terrorism which does not allow even to kill mosquitoes and flies. “Islam gives the message of peace and prosperity,” he added.
Rizwi asked the audience to give emphasis on behaviour of a person and not on his appearance. “A follower of Islam should be identified by his good character not by the dress he puts on. A Muslim should strive to have a good image in the society and earn respect,” he said.
The general secretary of Edar-e-Sharia, a city based Muslim body, Maulana Qutubiddin Rizwi, said that Muslims have also made sacrifices for the country. “Hamara Khoon Wafadaron Ka hai, Gaddaron ka nahi (blood of faithfuls runs in our veins and we do not belong to the deceivers),” he added.
Principal of Marwari College, Javed Ahmed, Ranchi University psychology department head, Saheed Hassan, psychology professor of Aligarh Muslim University, Javed Hussain and all vice president of All India Muslim Mushawarat were also present on the occasion.
