Al Reynolds Detailed Biography

Starlet Marie Jones Reynolds (born March 24, 1962 in Badin, North Carolina), is one of the stars of The View, a popular women-oriented talk show on the American Broadcasting Company television network. She is a former lawyer and prosecutor. She earned her B.A. at American University and got her Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Houston. Prior to joining the cast of The View, she was a correspondent and the chief legal analyst on Inside Edition, where she covered the O. J. Simpson murder trial and was the only one to interview him during his civil trial. In June 2003, Jones was sued by a landscaping company, which alleged she had agreed to ensure that the firm would receive credit for their work on a rooftop garden for her Upper East Side penthouse duplex in a quid pro quo exchange. The work was done in advance of an article about her home in the October 2003 issue of Architectural Digest. The Smoking Gun website reported on the suit, including a copy of a letter she signed which agreed to the deal. Star Jones married banker Al Reynolds in November of 2004. In December of that year, WE: Women's Entertainment named her the top Bridezilla of 2004. Jones has often been the target of American tabloids and gossip shows. Jones brought a huge amount of attention to her extravagant marriage to Reynolds and the marriage became the target of many jokes by late night comedians. Jones has said repeatedly that the tabloids don't bother her as long as she "gets paycheck at the end of the week." Conan O'Brien has made a habit of making fun of Jones; even after her dramatic weight loss (about which Jones has said very little), O'Brien has continued to target Jones and her weight on a weekly basis. O'Brien even took a crack at Jones the night that fellow View co-host Joy Behar was a guest on his show. Jim Rome commonly refers to Star as "Planet," obviously poking fun at her weight problem. Jones has written two books. The first book was called You Have to Stand for Something, or You'll Fall for Anything. In January of 2006, Jones published her second book, Shine : A Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Journey to Finding Love, detailing changes she made to re-shape her life, including her dramatic weight loss. Jones Reynolds made a comment on The View show on ABC on January 19, 2006, comparing the ego of President Bush to Osama bin Laden that triggered a great deal of controversy.
