Six killed in three accidents

BANGALORE: Six persons have been killed in accidents since Saturday night.

A mini truck collided with an autorickshaw while overtaking another vehicle near Tarikere Handpost, Ramanagaram, on Sunday. The autorickshaw turned turtle and its four passengers died on the spot.

The deceased are Muniraja (30), a resident of Kunigal, Nagesh (28), Ramanna (60), both residents of Ullenahalli, and Sriramamma (30), a resident of Kemapaiahanapalya in Magadi. The autorickshaw driver, Ravi Kumar (35), has been admitted to a hospital.

In the second incident, Bhavani Hegde (45), died on the spot when a military truck hit the two-wheeler she was riding pillion on. Bhavani and her husband Janardhana Hegde were returning home when the accident took place near Lavanya theatre on St Johns’s Road. The police have arrested the truck driver, Jasvindar Singh. In the third incident, a motorcyclist, Ataulla Khan (35), was mowed down by a BMTC bus near Pradip Circle on Saturday.
