From black to bronze!

Her scars reflect years of hard work and practice, which finally earned her the Bronze at the All India Karate Federation National Championship that was held in Chennai recently.

Sandhya fought with some seasoned participants who have been representing their states at the Nationals for eight consecutive years, some even more. Yet, the lissome lass managed to get the bronze, no mean feat. “I am proud to be the Number 3 fighter in the women’s category in India,” says Sandhya, who is back with a severely injured thumb and several body blows that have turned blue.

“I’m a born fighter. I’m glad I was able to show the fashion world in a different light rather than the dark side which always comes to the forefront.” So, when will Bronze turn to Gold? “I have my eyes set on the Gold!” smiles Sandhya.
