Driver, helper assaulted, robbed

BANGALORE: A truck driver was robbed of Rs 13,000 and a cellphone in Mahadevapura police limits on Sunday. The driver, Raghu, and his helper Thyagaraja were asleep in the truck near KR Puram bridge when two men approached them, asking for tools to fix a flat tyre.

When Raghu got up to help, the duo attacked him with an iron rod. Thyagaraja was also injured. They stole the cash and cellphone, and fled. Raghu is being treated at a private hospital.
