Salman follows Ash all the way to Tussauds

New Delhi: All set to stand shoulder to shoulder with Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and old friend Aishwarya Rai, is Bollywood star Salman Khan.

It has been learnt that Salman is the latest star whose waxwork will be installed at London's Madame Tussauds wax museum where a Bollywood corner of sorts has already been created.

According to sources, Salman was picked over a bunch of other stars including Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham and Kajol. The honour is meant to be a reflection of Salman's popularity among fans in the West.

The actor, who is shooting in Austria currently for Subhash Ghai's new film Main Yuvraj, is expected to pose for measurements for his waxwork on his return to Mumbai.

A team of artists and designers from Madame Tussauds will fly into Mumbai to record Salman's vital stats, his hair details, his eye colour and all necessary measurements that will be needed to recreate his waxwork.

The statue is expected to take four months to complete, and is likely to be installed at the Baker Street attraction in January next year.

While Amitabh Bachchan's wax statue wears a suit that the actor donated from his own personal wardrobe, Aishwarya's in draped in a red saree that was especially created for the waxwork by the actress' designer Neeta Lulla.

Shah Rukh Khan's statue, meanwhile, wears a suit designed by the actor's close friend and director Karan Johar.

What remains to be seen whether Madame Tussaud's will capitalise on Salman's shirtless popularity by going with a topless waxwork of the well-built star.
