Woman 'wishes' her robbers good luck

BANGALORE: Two men conned a 74-year-old woman, Pushpa, in Rajajinagar and made away with two chains and a gold ring on Saturday morning.

The conmen approached Pushpa and asked for a glass of water. During their conversation, they told her that they were opening a jewellery shop and sought her blessings. They gave her a Rs-500 note and asked her to put it in a hundi at a Ganesha temple. They convinced Pushpa that it would bring them luck if she wrapped her jewellery in the note. An unsuspecting Pushpa fell for their trap.

They returned the note and left immediately. When Pushpa opened the note, she realised the jewellery was missing.
In another incident, an unidentified man escaped with jewellery worth Rs 65,000 from a shop in Rajajinagar. The conman told the shopkeeper that he was opening a shop and hence wanted to buy a silver coin. This diverted the shopkeeper’s attention, thus making it easy for the conman to escape with jewellery worth Rs 65,000.
