Fergie added to The Police bill

Talk about an odd mix. Pop queen Fergie - the singer of sexually suggestive hit London Bridge - will support reformed '80s act The Police during the band's New Zealand tour.

Fergie, a member of hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas who released her first solo album this year, will open for The Police on their two New Zealand tour dates.

The Police, with Fergie, play Wellington's Westpac Stadium on January 17, and Western Springs in Auckland on January 19.

The support acts have also been announced for Silverchair and Powderfinger's joint tour.

Opshop will open for the Australian acts on October 16 in Christchurch, Autozamn will play on October 18 in Wellington, and Autozamn and Atlas will perform at the Auckland leg on October 20.
