M.I.A: 'Fergie copied me'

M.I.A has blasted Black Eyed Peas star Fergie for copying her style.

The rapper, who signed to the same label as Fergie, has accused Interscope boss Jimmy Lovine of encouraging the singer to copy her musical style for her solo career.

M.I.A says: "When I heard [Fergie’s single] London Bridge, I told [Lovine], 'If I don't sell records and make money for you you're just going to make them with her anyway.'"

But Lovine denies her claims, saying: "She's just an artist who inspires other artists."
