Lovelle Mixon: Lovelle Mixon killed three Oakland officers

Lovelle Mixon, of Oakland, California, 27, used an assault rifle to shoot police officers. Mixon was wanted for violating his parole. Mixon was first stopped in his car in east Oakland on Saturday, March 21. Mixon fired at two officers.

Sgt. Mark Dunakin, 40, was fatally shot by Mixon. Officer John Hege, 41, is hospitalized in serious condition.

Mixon then fled on foot. Mixon ran into a neighbourhood in east Oakland and disappeared. A caller tipped off police that the guman was hiding in a building. As SWAT officers closed in on Mixon, he shot at and killed Sgt. Ervin Romans, 43, and Sgt. Daniel Sakai, 35. SWAT officers killed Mixon.

We mourn the dead and pray for the living wounded.
