Layoff the Game!

New out - Layoff the Game. Titlfactor Labs has created Layoff the game which you can play until you can’t afford internet service either.

Layoff tackles the federal bailout of financial institutions. Mary Flanagan, the director of Tiltfactor Lab, says of the game:

“The game has an unsettling feeling. It is cute and fun to play, but when you realize how frightening the situation is, the game in fact functions as a very dark portent.”

The concept is to put together similar employees and lay them off to save the ailing company’s balance sheet. Once laid off they drop into employment, and the bottom of your screen. And who has immunity from unemployment? The bankers!

Each employee has a distinct characteristic:

“Frankie, a quiet and pleasant accountant with diabetes”

“Wes, a school bus driver and single parent.”
