Kristian C. Kavanagh
ATTICA — Kristian C. Kavanagh, 21, of Attica died Sunday (Jan. 25, 2009).
She was born March 29, 1987, in Batavia, the daughter of Connie Kavanagh of Attica and the late Timothy Kavanagh.

Miss Kavanagh graduated from Notre Dame High School and was a graduate of Genesee Community College. She was pursuing her bachelor's degree from Daemen College.
In addition to her mother, survivors include a sister, Karena Kavanagh of Attica; grandmother, Margaret Romano of Attica; her grandfather, Earnest Hargis of Rochester; several aunts, uncles, cousins; special friends, Mike Murphy of Batavia and Justine Mogavero of Batavia; and godmother, Rosalie Simetl of Brooklyn.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Leo M. Bean and Sons Funeral Home, 2771 Chili Ave., Rochester. Her Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
Agatha B. Scibetta
BATAVIA -- Mrs. Agatha B. Scibetta, 88, of Batavia, a sales assistant at J.C. Penney in Batavia for 11 years prior to her retirement in 1973, died Saturday (Jan. 24, 2009) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.
Mrs. Scibetta was born Dec. 10, 1920, in Albion, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Hopkins) Bilicki.
She was a member of the Ascension Parish at St. Anthony's Church and worked at the former W.T. Grant Company in Batavia.
Her husband, Samuel Dominic Scibetta, died in 1977.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth (Michael) Bartholomew of Batavia; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Mary Grace Wlazlak, and sister of the late Charles Bilicki, Anthony Bilicki and Lucille Tschetter.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia, where prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at Ascension Parish at St. Anthony's Site, 122 Liberty St., Batavia. Joseph F. Bodekor
VARYSBURG -- Joseph F. Bodekor, 82, of Route 20A, Varysburg, died Tuesday (Jan. 20, 2009) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Buffalo.
He was born in Buffalo May 27, 1926, the son of the late Henry and Julia Domon-Bodekor.
A lifetime resident of the area and a self-employed carpenter for over 50 years, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga. Joseph attended St. Joseph's Church in Varysburg, was hard-working, creative and good with his hands. He enjoyed woodworking and raising horses.
He was preceded in death on July 10, 2003, by his loving wife of 53 years, Rosemary Stroh Bodekor, and four brothers, Norman, Robert, Leon and Eugene.
Survivors include four sons, Paul Bodekor of Rochester, Joel (Nancy) Bodekor of North Java, Michael Bodekor of Orchard Park and Jeffery (Dorothy) Bodekor of Varysburg; a daughter, Marie (Dan) Strollo of Livonia; a brother, Donald (Betty) Bodekor of Marilla; a sister, Bernice Possinger of Wales; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends of Joseph F. Bodekor may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Weeks Funeral Home, 123 North Main St., Warsaw. An American Legion Service will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's in Varysburg. John F. Almeter
VARYSBURG -- John F. Almeter, 94, of Varysburg died Monday (Jan. 26, 2009) at St. John's Home in Rochester.
He was born March 29, 1914, in North Java, the son of the late John S. and Elizabeth Schwab Almeter.
Mr. Almeter was a retired farmer and worked for the Town of Sheldon Highway Department. An avid square dancer, he was a member of Strykersville and Johnsonburg Senior Citizens. He was also a member of St. John Neumann Church (formerly St. Cecilia's Church) in Sheldon.
His wife, Gladys R. Glaser Almeter, died Oct. 9, 2004.
Surviving are his children, Janet (late Ron) McNally of Rochester, Joan (late James) Wolf of Williamsville, Daniel (Kathleen) Almeter of Varysburg, Linda Almeter of Rochester and Karen Fox (Bob Kasprzak) of Geneseo; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Almeter of North Java; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was the brother of the late Ethel Marzolf and Laura Marzolf.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Marley Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Attica. The family will greet family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St.. John Neumann Church prior to the Mass of Christian burial which will begin at 11 a.m. at the former St. Cecilia's Church. Burial will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery in North Java.

Charles W. ''Bud'' Whitmore
SILVER SPRINGS -- Charles W. ''Bud'' Whitmore, 90, of Route 19A, Silver Springs, died Monday (Jan. 26, 2009) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
He was born Nov. 9, 1918, in Gainesville, son of the late George and Pearl Allshouse Whitmore. Charles worked for Ford Motor Company in Buffalo for several years. He operated a dairy farm for many years until his retirement in 1977. He also drove school bus for Letchworth Central School and Charles Shisler.
He was predeceased by his wife, Verna Quick Whitmore, who died in 1999.
Surviving are his daughter, Janice Whitmore of Silver Springs, his granddaughter, Yvonne Levey of Silver Springs; his sisters-in-law, Thelma Hume of Silver Springs and Marian Whitmore of Pike; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was the brother of the late George Whitmore.

Robert J. Wellman
WYOMING -- Robert J. Wellman, 55, of Dodson Road, Wyoming, died at home on Sunday (Jan. 25, 2009).
He was born April 20, 1953, in Warsaw, son of the late Austin and Lena Wilyat Wellman.
Mr. Wellman was a graduate of Warsaw Central School, Class of 1971, and was a graduate of the University of Buffalo School of Pharmacy in 1977. He was employed for many years as a pharmacist for Rite Aid in Perry. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed gardening.
Surviving are his daughter, Gwendolynn (Derek) Wellman-Flick of Virginia Beach, Va.; his son, Austin Wellman of Boston, Mass.; his sisters, Laurie (Jon) Lynn of Batavia and Mary Lou (Chris) Hamm of East Amherst; two nieces and one nephew, Nia Pullinzi, Zeke W. Lynn and Tessa R. Lynn; and his good friend, Marj Gates.
