Wife Swap: Paintball Wife Swaps With Environmental Wife

On this week’s episode of Wife Swap, the Long family and the Stephens-Fowler family are featured. The Long family from Missouri lives a life of fast food, 4X4s and paintball, while the Stephens-Fowler family from California focuses on education, the environment and keeping their bodies fit.

The Long family consists of husband Alan, wife Gayla, and their four sons. The sons are fifteen year old Cody, ten year old Coltan, eight year old Clayton, and four year old Cameron. The whole family, including mom, loves paintball. At home, Gayla takes care of all of the household chores, which Alan calls “skirt work.” Alan works as mayor of the fifty-five person town, where they live. The Long family usually eats corn dogs and fast food, and exercise to them is riding an ATV. For the Long family, such things as education and environment take a backseat to having fun.

The Stephens-Fowler family consists of husband Stephen, wife Rene, and their two children. The two children are eleven year old Juliette and eight year old James. Rene works as a life coach and certified weight-loss hypnotherapist, and Stephen is a British-born environmental entrepreneur. The entire family is both health and environmentally conscious. The family eats only organic food, and they spend weekends doing family fitness activities. The family utilizes a housekeeper to take care of household chores. The children engage in music, fencing and speaking foreign languages in hopes of attending an Ivy League college.

In the first week of the swap, Gayla Long is surprised to find out how much time Rene spent on the treadmill and that Stephen picks up the kids from school. Gayla questions if the children have time for fun in between all their homework. Meanwhile, Rene Stephens-Fowler does her best to use the washing machine. Rene expresses concern that the Long family isn’t getting enough exercise and does not have a proper diet.

In the second week of the swap, Gayla Long introduces the Stephens-Fowler family to paintball and go-karts. Meanwhile, Rene Stephens-Fowler locks up the ATVs and takes the Long family hiking. She also attempts to show the Long family some healthier food options.

Wife Swap airs on Friday, January 30 from 8 PM to 9 PM ET on ABC.
