The results of the Miami Marathon 2009 are coming in. The first winner of the ING Miami Marathon 2009 events is Sue Larsen of Fenton.
Larsen won the Miami Half Marathon. Her time - 1 hour, 20 minutes and 36 seconds.
Over 15,000 participants took part in today’s Marathon. Here are the street closures reported by local CBS:
As of 5 a.m., the following streets were shutdown:
No northbound traffic will be allowed along Biscayne Blvd from SE 4th Street to Flagler St. All traffic on Brickell Avenue traveling north towards the Brickell Bridge will be directed west on 7th Street. An officer will be present to allow local traffic into One Miami, Wachovia, Miami Center, Met I, Intercontinental Hotel, Epic Hotel and any businesses associated with these buildings.
Vehicular traffic traveling north on Biscayne Blvd. will be directed into a counterflow along the southbound lanes of Biscayne Blvd. This counterflow, although still allowing traffic to flow both north and south on Biscayne Blvd., will cause traffic delays. All vehicles will be able to get to all businesses and residences within the affected areas.
The ramp onto MacArthur Causeway from Biscayne Boulevard will be closed until 7 p.m. Sunday.
As soon as the marathon results come in, LALATE will have them for you first.
