Alaska Earthquake shakes homes in Anchorage

A 5.7 magnitude earthquake shook Anchorage, Alaska Saturday morning local time.

The U.S. Geological Survey advised that the quake’s epicenter was 161 miles southwest of Anchorage. There was no tsunami warning in effect. The quake occurred at a depth of 100 kilometers (62 miles).

The shake was felt throughout Anchorage, although there was no immediate reports of injury or damage.

Preliminary data indicated a 6.1 quake but this was later revised down.
