Police confirm murder on Virginia Tech campus

Virginia Tech police have confirmed a murder at the Graduate Life Center on campus.

The victim was stabbed around 7 p.m.

Police say they do have a suspect in custody.

Police are asking students to stay where they are and stay away from the Graduate Life Center.

The Graduate Life Center was formally known as Donaldson-Brown. It is on the edge of the Virginia Tech campus right by Otey Street and College Avenue. It is pretty much in downtown Blacksburg.

For those not familiar with VT, the GLC is a graduate dorm with meeting rooms, a small dining area, class rooms, computer labs, study halls, and a conference hall.

This is another blow to the Virginia Tech community and Blacksburg. It is not a violent school or a violent town.

That is all the news from here for now about the murder. The suspect is in custody and we are safe.
