Okay, young ladies, here’s something to drool about. As a leading UK magazine’s survey on celeb bodies pinned down Daniel ‘James Bond’ Craig as the man with the ‘best celeb body’, we did a quick survey of Indian male celebs with the most perfect physique.
As AT spoke to some headturners from Bollywood, we discovered, that simply a washboard flat ab wasn’t all women liked in the perfect male, his face and personality also had to match up to his six-pack abs.
While most agreed that Sanjay Dutt, Bollywood’s erstwhile bad boy was the original posterboy and had one of the best celeb bodies, now there are more new entrants to that category. Including shirtless Salman, cheesecakes John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan,
over 40s Suniel Shetty and Akshay Kumar and yes the New Mr Six Packs, Shah Rukh Khan!
“I think Salman Khan is undoubtedly the one with the best physique in Bollywood and aren’t the reasons obvious,” says his sister-in-law Malaika Arora Khan. For new mom and actor Perizaad Zorabian, a great body isn’t only about lots of muscles. She says “I think Akshay Kumar has a very fit body. His fitness isn’t just about being ‘Big Muscles.’ He exudes vitality, energy, good health, along with a lean frame.”
With well-toned biceps and a narrow waist Hrithik Roshan emerges as another dream boat. And after Dhoom 2, his drool-factor has multiplied. And our Bollywood women could not agree more. “He has the fittest body and and he flaunts it with lots of style. He also has a very handsome face to match his body,”grins anchor-actor Pooja Bedi.
For some, merely sculpted good looks and a great body aren’t enough. As Sandhya Mridul puts it, “When you look at a well sculpted physique, it makes everyone envious. It tells a lot about his commitment, discipline and dedication towards good health.”
Style icon Mandira Bedi says, “Having a fit and good body is all about looking natural and not about consuming steroids and pumping iron. So for me, Akshay Kumar is naturally fit. It’s easier to attain a six pack with various substances but a well-toned body is much harder to achieve.”
And with Bollywood superstars shedding inhibitions on screen, looks like having a ‘great body’ is as important as being a powerhouse performer.
