Prince has recorded a new song seemingly in defiance at the group of fans who he is in battle with.
As previously reported, three websites set-up Prince Fans United last week, claiming the pop icon was attempting to "stifle all critical commentary".
His legal team are thought to be attempting to block the use of non-approved publicity photos on the unofficial sites.
A track called "PFunk" has now been posted online at Princefamsunited.com and begins with the words: "Drop it".
Other lyrics in the song include: "The only reason you say my name is to get your fifteen seconds of fame, nobody's even sure what you do."
Meanwhile, a new statement in response has been posted at Princefansunited.com, insisting they are moving towards an agreement with him and his management.
It reads: "We are hopeful that an amicable resolution can be reached wherein all can co-exist peacefully on the internet. However, if the talks are unsuccessful, the Prince Fans United Group vows to continue its fight.
"In the meantime, Prince has provided Prince Fans United with the song named 'PFUnk' for your listening pleasure."
