Rock'n'Roll never dies

The old mantra rock'n'roll never dies is living on this summer with a swag of super rockers are bringing their shows down under.

Bands such as Crosby Stills and Nash, Bonjovi, the Eagles, the Police, the Dudes, Brian Ferry, Joan Armatrading and Santana Aswell to name a few, are all making their way over.

"You're never going to get it back again quite the way it was, but there is something really cool about going to see a band that pushed your buttons back in the 70s and 80s," Classic Hits Jacquie Tucker says.

And why are they making the rounds you ask?

"It is money but it's also that the bands are remembering their best days," Classic Hits breakfast show presenter Andrew Dickens explains. "There is in the music business a realisation that cd's aren't selling that tours are making all the money."

But it won't just be the independent and financially secure baby boomers attending these gigs.

"The baby woomers as we call them used to think it wasn't cool to go to concerts with their parents but are now finding that the originators of rock n roll and the other music forms are now worth seeing," music promoter Phil Spray points out.
