Yes Bank Chairman Kapur Missing in Oberoi Hotel Since Attack

Ashok Kapur, chairman of YES Bank Ltd. that’s partly owned by Rabobank of the Netherlands, has been missing in the Oberoi since terrorists attacked the luxury Mumbai hotel two days ago, his bank said.

“Chairman Kapur was at the Oberoi with his family for dinner on Wednesday,” spokesman Debasis Ghosh said over the telephone from India’s financial capital. “The bank has not heard from him ever since.”

More than 200 people were this afternoon freed from the Oberoi-Trident hotel complex after commandos cleared the site of terrorists who had held Indian and overseas guests and workers as hostages.

Attacks by terrorists on three luxury hotels and the main railway station in Mumbai left 121 people dead and 370 injured. Nine terrorists were killed and one, a Pakistani, was arrested following action by Indian security forces, R.R. Patil, deputy chief minister of the Maharashtra state, said today.

Kapur owns about 11.8 percent in the bank, while Rabobank International Holding BV owns 18 percent of the bank as of Sept. 30, according to data posted on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
