Happy National Pie Day!

That’s right. It is National Pie Day. Renee’s coworker tipped her off that January 23 is the day to celebrate all things pie (thanks Karen). By complete coincidence, we will be marking our first full week of eating pies on this blessed day.

So what exactly is National Pie Day? According to the American Pie Council’s website (yes, I’m being serious—there is an American Pie Council), “National Pie Day is dedicated to the celebration of pie. As part of our American heritage, this day is a perfect opportunity to pass on the love and enjoyment of pie eating and pie making to future generations.”

People actually take part in pie day festivities, including the National Pie Championships, baking pies for friends or neighbors, taking pie baking classes and sharing pie at home for dessert.

One thing is for sure, we will definitely be taking part in this holiday.
