ALBANY, N.Y. -- If Kirsten Gillibrand becomes our new senator, there's already a growing list of Republicans ready to run for what would then be her vacant Congress seat.
Sandy Treadwell and Betty Little have publicly declared that they plan to run in a special election if there's an opening. Treadwell lost to Gillibrand in the last election.
He issued a statement saying, "I have just come off a campaign on the district, so I have name recognition, and 150,000 people who already voted for me. I would also be able to finance the campaign personally."
Betty Little has also told Warren County Chairman Mike Grasso that she is seeking the Republican backing for the seat as well.
Other possible contenders could be John Faso and current Assemblyman James Tedisco, but they have not released any official statements.
