onavala (Maharashtra) (PTI): Three months after entering the reality show, Ashutosh Kaushik on Saturday night walked away with the 'Bigg Boss 2' title and a whopping Rs one crore in cash.
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar announced the winner here in presence of the show's host, Shilpa Shetty, and all the contestants except for two.
"I thank Rahul Mahajan for his wishes and support," Ashutosh, who hails from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh, said after he was declared the winner.
Rahul, the slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan's son, who recently quit the show after being accused of violating house rules, had predicted that Ashutosh would be the winner.
"I don't know what I would do with the prize money. I will let my parents decide that," Ashutosh, who owns a 'dhaba' at Saharanpur, told PTI.
Model-actor Zulfi Syed was declared the second runner-up, while Raja Chaudhry became the first runner-up.
Tonight's finale was marred by the gate crashing attempt at the venue by a group of locals, angry over not being allowed inside.
Deepak Dhar, Managing Director of Endemol, the company that organised the show, told PTI, "It was a minor incident... the group wanted to meet Akshay and Shilpa."
